Default 97 Accord, mod it??

Hey guys, I'm new here and just wanted some advise. I have a '97 Accord coupe, and I'd like to start modding it. But I'd like to know if its worth my time or just a waste of cash. I would also like to know how strong the atx tranny are on these cars. Should I swap engines/tranny, go turbo, supercharge, what cost less and provides nice hp gains. On the turbo thing, single or twin?? Thanks.

Well, whether or not it's worth it depends on what you want/expect from it and how much money you want to spend. If you don't expect a 12 second car that handles like it's on rails, then it's worth every penny. If you just want to make it better than it currently is, go crazy with it. If I had my way, I'd prolly slap in a H22 or H23, super/turbo charge it, and of course build it up to the fullest. I don't expect it to outrun Vettes and stuff, I just want it faster/quicker than it is and want to have fun w/it. I'd like to put the smack down on an unsuspecting Eclipse/Prelude/Integra/RSX, no doubt. My opinion to you is to go Forced Induction and skip the I/H/E route. It'll be a bigger hit to the pocket initially, but the gains will be bigger also. Have fun mang.
