Default Engine Swap Question...

Hi i have a 89 Honda Accord and wanted to swap a newer engine in it becuase one the newer engines have no sparks and timing belts. Two i want more power. Three i can drive a mannual but i don't like to here so i want to make it a Auto. How hard is the B18c swap or H22a swap i know the engines each run for about 3,000 dollers. I probaly can get them cheaper because i know a friend in the Honda Engine busness my other friend got the B18c from him and he intalled it in his CRX for 1G. I wanted to know how much labor would be, becuase i don't have the time for all this. Any other engine suggestings are welcomed. Thanks, Brian

P.S. here are links to engines i like...

A B18c would require some custom work. I'm pretty sure that the H22a swap would require custom work on your gen too. I also don't know if auto trannies are sold with engine swaps. And what's this about spark plugs and timing belts? ALL engines have those.

English and proper punctuation are your friend...

When i went to the Honda Dealer my parents got a new 2004 Honda Accord LX and they said the 160HP and newer engines they removed the spark plugs and timming belt off of it. That is where i got that info so is it wrong?

To each his own. Nothing wrong with an older bodystyle Accord as long as you keep it in shape.

Wow...that's one stupid Honda salesman! Unless your car is solar powered or strictly electric, it HAS to have spark plugs to ignite the gas/air mixture in your cylinders! You should go slap him for me. :slap:

He's right. I bought my '91 for $2,000. That still give you $1,000 to put into modding! Right there is either your i/h/e, or suspension...maybe even both if you can get hooked up!
