...My friends car makes a whinning noise when the fan turns itself on. ( not the a/c fan. The one opposite the battery of the car ).
We could sit idling the car in his driveway and when the fan turns on, its makes this loud quick grinding noise. Like its hitting something then the noise goes away. You hear it for about 5 seconds. The fan continues to turn and noise more noise. Until it shuts off and turns back on.

Today: We went to AutoZone and bought some WD-40 cause we thought maybe some of that shit would lube up the bearings and it did nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.

What would cause the Fan to make noise. Sounds like its hitting something but when we investigated ourselves we determined there is enough clearence for the blades to spin.
