Default 96 Accord EX Spoiler Light

hey, i bought this car last may and am not sure if the spoiler is stock. anyway, the brake light on it is not lighting up, yet the one in the rear window is. anyone know how to get it to work? thanks.

to my original third brake light socket
well u just pull out ur third brank light wire and plug ur spoiler wire in there

Its possible the LED's burnt out in the spoiler. perhaps try opening your trunk and examine the wires coming from the spoiler and ensure they are still hooked into the brake lighting system.

If I recall genuine Honda spoilers should say Accord underneath, at least every 6th gen I ever saw did.

usually that brake light gets disconnect easy

interesting i wanna see a 96 accord with the factory tail, i am looking to buy one if it looks good i still havent see a sedan 96accordex with factory tail if u have pics post some.

a OEM spoiler will plug in to the car in place of the window mounted 3rd brake light. If the spoiler is OEM, its possible the wirring was just never connected, for whatever reason. If it is aftermarket, I believe the wirring was usually spliced into the factory wirring.

Trace the wirring out of the trunk lid, assuming it was run, to verify weather or not it is connected to the cars wirring. It is possible the installer of the spoiler just never bothered with the wirring of the light. You may even have to remove the spoiler from the trunk lid to see if the wirring is connected or not.

thanks for the help guys, i checked and i think it is after-market (said "just top" under the light). no problem though, ill get that wired up one day and it should look awesome.

btw, its an EX coupe, looks great with the spoiler, plus its got 13% tints i love it, ill post pics as soon as i get my digi working

I have a 1997 accord sedan with Honda OEM spoiler, looks absolutely sweet , I highly recommend you get one! I'll post pics soon if I get a chance...

sweet ty, my friend is painting his entire car same color as mine maybe i can get a oem spoiler and get it painted for cheap that would b great, now i have to find one under $300
