Intake for 5th gen accord
Im wondering if anyone knows how the sound of an AEM short ram intake compares to an injen on a 5th gen accord 4 cyl. I have a short ram injen on my civic right now and it is a little louder than what i was looking for. Aslo, my buddy has the same intake on his cl and it is definitely not as loud, just perfect. Is this just because the cl has more engine bay insulation? Thanks

I run a AEM Short ram intake in my 5th gen. The sound is fine to me but then again I am also running a Greddy Evo Cat-Back. I usually don't here my intake until about 3200 and up. Then it gets pretty loud.

It is my understanding that when you get an Air Intake (not stock), that you really don't need to replace the air filter unless something is physically wrong with it. In terms of maintenance, and time that it has been used they sell cleaning solutions specifically made for these types of air filters so you in can just clean the current one (new once again), let dry, and reinstall in a couple of hours.
The AEM Short RAM that I have I think sounds great! It is not loud at all if I am not pushing the car hard, but if I want to push the RPM's over 3000 then the sound does start to kick in.
