Default auto transmission fluid flush?

anyone in the bay area know a good dealer/shop to get a auto transmission fluid flush with honda atf?

honda in berkeley and oakland only do drain and refill. i might just have no other choice but to get a drain and refill but i would like to get a full flush.

any input would be appreciated.

thanks!

They should have a flush available honda does recommend it at times, basically it is changing it 3 or four times.

never do a full flush. there are metal shavings and deposits that sit at the bottom of the pan. when flushed, all that garbage works its way back into the gears.

drain and fill 3qts at a time. if the dealer won't even do it, that's a sign that it's not a good idea.

All you have to do is drain it.
Then, if you'd like,... you can let about 2 quarts run through your tranny,.. just so that you wont contaminate the new fluid.
Then refill.

I heard you have to drain out all of the fluid, fill it up and run it for a few miles. Then you repeat this step 3 times. It is what the manual says. It seems like a big wastes of ATF because ATF last 120k miles but for this flush process, it last 2 miles. I would probably save the new flush fluid and use it as engine oil for about 5k miles. It is also oil, just much thinner. Then again, I don't want to cheap out on a few bucks and loose a good engine.

I am not sure if the dealer really do the 3 flush thing or just charge you for the work and not do it. I know that they do not top off all fluid on the last 2 of my preventive maintenace visits. The coolant level was at Min and it stayed at Min after both visit, 7500 miles apart. I just poured some water in it and top it off myself. It is only 1/3 of a quart between Min and Max lines and that's a reserve tank, so I didn't want to buy a 1 gallon bottle for just that. I wont need that stuffs until 102k miles from now anyway.

I believe El cerito Honda by richmond has a flush machine. It's not bad to use them. I've done it to many Honda's and never had a problem. It removes 98% of the old ATF. It will not hurt the tranny as long as it has no pressure. The one we have basically taps into the cooler hoses going to the rad. from the transmission and slowly replaces the old oil with new oil. It has no pump it simply lets the transmissions pump do the work (the car must be running in neutral or park). I have never even seen the older style pressure type flushers as they have been frazed out.
