Default Help with a 2002 EX Accord

Im a newbie in the world of cars and had a few Q's

What the heck is the diff between the engines i.e. h22 and f23 and which one does my car have?

How possible is it to make my car run high 14's on the track w/o an engine swap? What would i need to do to get there?

I just ordered and AEM CAI and wanna work on the h/e but i've heard that changing the header will have almost nill effect on performance is this true?

which dual cat back system is good?

how effective are pully systems and what exactly do they do?

Also wanna thank everyone on the board learnin alot of theory... now gotta put all that to use under the hood.

kay...ill try to answer what i know...

the H serie engines are DOHC vtec...which has double cam..
urs is the F series...single cam..vtec or not..it depends on which trim model u have...

if youre seriously want to get into the 14s without any swaps...u might want to consider force induction...
bolt ons alone wont do it...

the header will most likely help you with the torque...

almost any catback systems are very similar...the exhaust is what makes each sound different...most have minimal gain on stock cars...

aftermarket pullies are lighter...helps gain a few...

h23 is the Prelude motor
f23 is the Accord motor

you cant run 14s unless you get forced induction

any dual will do, Greddy, Apex-i, etc

sorry, im not sure if u stated this, but are u a V6 or I4? and if ur an I4, manual or auto tranny? make a difference. and YES, u have vtec, if ur name is Accord 2002, im assuming u got the 2002 model, and they all have VTEC, since 1998 even i think. unless u have the DX, which i have never seen on the east coast, meaning NY, PENN, DC, MD, and VA... well, maybe a few times actually, cuz i dont think the DX has VTEC, but i may be wrong.

correct me if im wrong guys, but if he has a 2002 V6, he is between 15.8-16.1 already 1/4 mile. last time i checked like motord trend or car driver at least, they said the accord V6's are like the same speed as the Prelude SH(which is in manual, duh). So im thinking with just simple bolt ons mid 15s can be obtained, like catback exhaust, CAI, and headers... maybe like a 15.5. and lowering ur car too(better suspension, maybe some better tires =), lighter racing wheels, have u ever picked up our rims, their mad heavy, our 6th generations geez )... gives u a better start.

hrm... the AV6 is certainly not the same speed as a Prelude TypeSH. A good driver in a lude can hit low 15s, high 14s.

check av6.com... if you boost, some guys hit 15.4

an AV6 w/5spd and 80 shot dry nos hit 14.1

it also depends on your location, cause a 98 AV6 w/ SRI, custom cat, and VAFC ran 16.47

on the other hand another guy with just a CAI ran a 15.8

i live in CO and yes the Av6 comes with a factory time of 16.1 @ 88 mph
if i... get dual catbacks, new rims/tires, new springs, and pullys is it possible to to get low 15s'?

and i've heard that changing the headers wont do much cuz the car comes stock with a decent header is this true?
