Default Just installed TYC Black projectors on 6thG

Just installed my TYC projectors today, took longer to aim the beam than it did for the install ;P. I loaded them up with 4 H1 OSRAM SilverStar 55w +50% bulbs. I had these specially imported from Europe, as the American version is 55w/+30%. The bulbs meet EEC standards (Europe DOT/SAE?), and would probably meet DOT standards. I don't worry too much because of the TYC certificate of compliance card it came with. Tonight, though a couple of cars flashed their highs at me, I had to show them what a real high beam looked like

The light output is insane. I can see everything on the left and right ditches (on the road). I bet a lot of it has to do with the special 50% bulbs I ordered, but it's suprerb. I don't know why people say OEM > projectors, although I've seen those shitty "Halo" "Angel Eyes" and I can say they do throw out shitty light output. The TYCs are great, I've got more and whiter light than OEM (I did have regular American SilverStar's in my OEM 9006 lows).

Paid $189 shipped for the headlamps, paid $70 shipped (From Europe) for 4 H1 SilverStar 50% bulbs.

The bulbs do help somewhat, I have them in the H4 for my ecodes, and thei ARE brighter than stock by far. But it's mostly because TYC does actual research and development for their products. Almost all of these shitty aftermarket projectors, use H3 for low beams. Correct me if I'm wrong, but H3 makes for a good FOG light, not a low beam. Congrats though...if I had a 6th gen, I'd have bought them as soon as they came out.

aside from the awesome light output, those things are hideous IMHO.... you don't need more than 3 lights on each headlight....
