Bought and 03 Accord for my son and was looking for a forum to see what kind of go-fast goodies we could put on it.

The problem is that I was finding lots of poseurs and rice until I got here.

Gotta say that this board seems pretty straight! The car of the week is a great example, 289whp from a Civic? Definitely NOT rice.

Don't know jack about the import engines, so expect a lot of stupid questions.

 

don't put anything on it. leave it be. I wouldn't mod a new car performance-wise.

Yeah performance wise an 03 Accord is pretty fast already. If I didn't own such an older model Accord, I myself would do a lot less performance mods. to my car to increase horsepower.

I do have to admit though...I do love my AEM Air Intake; The sound and the added horsepower has definitely been felt since I installed it.

Preacher: Did you get the I4 or V6?

You'll find that Honda's engines are pretty well tuned out of the box. Hard to really gain much with bolt-ons. Best bang for your buck is FI.

I4: Beings that the K24 is relatively new, I'm not sure what turbo's are out there yet. There are a handful of boosted previous generation Accords here on the board making nice improvements in power.

V6: Pretty quick as is...probably more potential for bolt ons, and most guys with V6 go SC over turbo.

I'd look into suspension/tire mods to make the car more fun to drive first.

if he's got the I4, that K24 may have some potential compared to our older F-series engines, seeing how everyone likes the new K motors :rick: I suggest you just let him do the research and get used to the car before letting him spend money.

Did you know Koni is expected to release their Koni Yellows for the '03-'04 Accords next month? How about getting Ground Control coilovers with custom spring rates (they use 2.5" ID Eibach ERS springs)? You can really have a lot of fun with the suspension if you take them time to do research and do it right

 

It's the 4-Cyl model.

The thing is, he's not really into cars much. I am hoping, by working with him to mod his car a bit, he will get in to it. I want to show him the right way, one that does't involve neon and vinyl

As for turbo charging, that just isn't going to happen any time soon. Not till he graduates college anyway....

how come you just didn't buy a car like an RSX-S or a WRX to begin with. they cost about as much as a 4 banger accord, but will handle better and pack more punch in stock form.
