I had the Michelin MXV4's on my A97 Sedan when I purchased it. I too thought the tire was good until I replaced them with Bridgestone Potenza RE950's 225/60/15. Wanted to put them on my 01 Coupe, but the price nearly doubled for the size I needed.

Despite being cheaper, this tire out performed the Michelins in every category including noise. Excellent dry traction and incredible wet traction. I live in the south, so can't attest to snow performance.

I have over 25000mi on them, more than half tread still remains and they’re still quiet. This is an excellent High Performance tire for the money.

Make sure you get an alignment after installing tires if it's been a while. This along with 5000mi rotation will keep noise down during wear and increase their longevity.

I can't believe you put tires that wide on your '97, which came with 5.5" wide wheels?

I think almost any all season tire is better than the stock Michelin MXV4s. Yokohama AVIDs offer good all season grip.

How much wider are they than 195 tires? I mean im kinda surprised that 205 size tires fit a rim that came with 195.

Is the tire going to buldge out since they are wider?

this is very true. also when you buy from a shop you get free flat repair and if you have problems with the tires/ throw a weight they will be more helpful to you. they may also take better care of your rims too.

Hello all,

I'm a newbie, so bear with me. I just purchased a 2001 Accord EX 4cyl coupe (my 8th Honda). The OEM tires that Honda puts on are not necessarily great performance tires. I have Bridgestones on now that came with the car. My choice in performance tire is Dunlop. I first tried them on my 94 Si and they were great, especially wet traction. Ever since then, I get Dunlop Sport A2's put on as soon as I can. I found them at tirerack.com for $60, but I'm sure if you look around you can get a better price. Houston weather is pretty wet at times and these tires are great on the roads here.

I also have a question for people...What do the numbers in the size of the tire indicate? And changing sizes, how do you know what you can change to on a given rim?

Thanks!
