Default 1994 Spark Plug Wires

I was cleaning the engine bay of my daughter's '94 LX over the weekend and noticed her SP Wires are dated 1994 with a Japanese name. I assume these wires are original, should I replace them and if so with what brand? Will she notice any improvement if we change the wires?

thanks....

can't hurt.. your best bet is to replace them with OEM wires. also, if the plug wires haven't been changed since the car was purchased in 1994 what other stuff has been neglected? just a thought

As a rule of thumb, I try to replace wires every 5-years. You're definately due. It might also be a good idea to change the cap and rotor as that is likely original as well.

thanks everyone for the replies & comments....

We just bought this car in mid-Jan. w/108K miles on it and it's in VG shape.

We purchased from the original owner who has all records & receipts. Within the past 20K miles; all belts (incl. timing), Water Pump, Front brakes incl. Rotors & Calipers, Complete Transmission flush, Muffler & Exhaust pipe have all been replaced. Major items were done at a Honda dealership incl. 90K Service. I also have changed the Oil & Filter on it of course.

The owner mentioned she hadn't done a tune-up for a while, and my guess is the only item the local garage was changing out were the Spark Plugs. I'll check the Dist. Cap as well & I'll stick to OEM on the Wires as several suggested.

Thanks... Tom
