Default Custom Exhaust

I wanted to get a custom exhaust done in my car, I have an h22 swap I'm doing in about 3 wks, and I wanted a good custom exhaust. I was thinking along th lines of 2 1/4" piping with a good deep non-raspy muffler. I'm gonna have a hi-flo cat to eleiminate some noise. I had a test pipe and it was too loud for me. I'm looking for something that isn't too loud, but is very deep. I like the sound that the HKS Hi-Power exhaust makes on thier wrx......http://hksusa.com/content/misc1759.wmv

do yourself a favor and buy a real namebrand catback. if you still decide your going to go custom i would use 2.5inch pipe since you have an H22.

Now if he was to get a name brand cat-back exhaust, it would be made for the prelude engine am I correct. I thought people said that you would need to get a custom exhaust due to the fact the cat or the pipping was longer??

If you want to go with the 2.25in, Maganflow has a catback that uses that size pipe. it comes with a resonator and you can get either a single or dual exhaust. I have the dual on my 4 cyl and love how they sound. they are deep when you get going but once you get to cruse speed they sound like they are not even there.
note: its kinda hard to get the sound of the WRX.

check out my sound clips below to hear and see

you use an accord catback and you shorten the pipe to bolt up to the cat. at this time it's a good idea to get a shorter hi flow cat so you can cut less of the pipe besides the fact that your stock cat is probably close to being worn out anyways.

not true. depending on future mods, 2.5 could be beneficial for a NA application.

2.5" could be beneficial for NA or turbo...it doesn't really matter at this point....2.25" would be enough for either application to a point unless you're going extreme. At this point it comes down to an issue of how much noise you want.

most people that i know who have nice custom exhausts and an H22, use 2.5 inch, but they also have more than just bolt-ons and drive hell out their cars. i personally rather get a real namebrand catback like apexi or greddy which has 60mm or 2.34 inches pipe which is perfect for a N/A H22.
