i just got a new set of headers but they don't have the gasket that goes across the top of them. i was jus wondering if i really do need that gasket when i install aftermarket headers? :thinking: cuz all the ones i see online show the smaller gasket that's for the bottom piece of the header but not the top one. u kno the piece wit the 4 holes
......or can i jus use the stock one that im taking off my stock header? :thinking:

 

Use the stock ones, it shouldnt be a problem.

Yes you need the gasket since it stops little leaks that rob a bit from the car and causes excess noise which can lead to tickets Suggested you get a new one to replace the old one.

So about these headers....is your car a V4 or just an I4??

 

Ahh lay off Nightshade, its not 100% technically correct, but alot of people refer to em in the plural sense. I re-used my original ones without any problem.

This is VERY important, use a torque wrench, and use the recommended torque. You're gonna have to search for the specs. but those lugs are very soft, and can easily be snapped.

 

I know I am sorry just needed a laugh.

If I am reading the manual correctly it says 23 lbf-ft or 31 N-m which ever standard u prefer...

And for what it's worth, the manual also says that it should be replaced
