LEDs run anywhere from $1 to $5 each from radio shack. Zidek here, got his the easy way....managed to get ahold of one of those contruction blinking lights that used LEDs and he's taken them all out of there.

do you need to use resistors with the LED's? If they are 5 volt LED's I am figuring about a 450-470 ohm resistor right?

my LEDs are 12V and i used to use 150 Ohm for the signals not now i switched to 47 Ohm and they are a hell of alot brighter.

I am confused now, If your LED's are 12 volt why use a resistor? Shouldn't you be able to wire that right up to the 12 volts provided by the socket?

i don't know why it's like that either but when i had it wihout the resistor, not all of them would show up and some would disappear, lol.

(Sorry for all the questions)

Did they burn out or just would not light?

Did you use one resistor for all the LED's and coneect them in series or did you use one resistor for each LED or did you use a resistor bridge?

Zidek, you are the man. I wish I had all that time and desire to do that kind of stuff to my car. The brake light so far looks pretty damn good.

they wouldn't light but after i put the resistor in (series) after a lil while they'd start to come on again, brighter and brighter .
