Default 1996 honda accord starter

i have a problem with my starter. when i try to start, i here a clicking sound. i turn the key 3-4 times and the car finally starts. i bypassed eveything and connected a cable from the positive of the battery directly to the starter relay just to test. i get the clicking. after a few tries, the car starts. i ordered a replacement starter and decided to install myself. i disconnected all cables and upper bolt. when i tried to remove the lower bolt, i could not. it was tight as hell. anyone run across this problem? any ideas on how to remove that lower bolt?

screw the top bolt back in. Shoot alittle wd-40 into the lower bolt lip (just a drop - don't douse it - let it penetrate). Loosen both evenly, remove the bottom one first. If that doesn't work, hit the starter with a rubber mallet or wooden block to loosen it up while the top bolt is out...
