Default Weird ass knocking...

So I was driving back to college a while ago and I'm cruising along at about 65-70 mph. I start going up a hill and I feel this weird knocking throughout the car. I noticed it a couple of over times and just thought it was the road.

When I went back home this weekend, it knocked, except worse. I did it under pretty much ANY acceleration. It didn't have to be hard acceleration. It pretty much only did it in 5th gear.

When I came back last night though, it didn't do it for a while, started doing it again, and stopped right before I got into town again. THIS IS WEIRD! :awais:

Older cars used to do that if you put in gas with too low octane - an intermittent knocking, especially when going up hill.

let me take a stab in the dark, your engine is knocking? You're using 87 octane right? You shouldn't have to go to a higher octane as a solution; something is wrong

Yup...using 87...used to use higher and it never did this. I'll at least give it a shot! Thanks for the advice!

Well...yeah...but I'm not INCREDIBLY worried about it yet. When I get just a little bit more money, I'll start worrying about it.

It's probably your spark plug wires. I've had this happen before when I replaced the spark plugs on a car without replacing the wires. A few days later it was kind of knocking as I was driving then it would clear up. Ended up one of the wires must have been lightly broken inside, cause a new set fixed the prob.
