Default Piggyback chips, ECU swaps, and misc

I've been reading a little lately on Jet and Venom chips for my car. I've even seen a couple on eBay from (what appears to be) reputable sellers. I'm wondering if anyone has ever had either, on any car, and what your result was. I'd really like something I can switch off (i.e. back to "before i put this on") and switch on when I need it. If these are just overpriced (and overhyped) pieces of shit, then I'd love to know that as well. I'd never make a purchase without finding out first TIA

i heard and read about how the venom was just how it changed your throttle response (exactly what a diff. thrttle rotor does)so like when you press 60%, it may be 90% instead. I think people recomment getting the Apexi VAFC or SAFC, not sure.

Yeah, he is right, the venoms are crap, you can do the same thing a venom does for you by just pushing harder in the pedal

Those little modules act like the resistor mods on ebay. They only cost more and you get a nifty switch and box with a snake on it. Get a real standalone...or check out my sig for an affordable but equally effective alternative

I think the JET ones are deascent. U actually ship in ur ecu and they modify it with their chips. I think the JET box u buy is pretty much an empty box that u put ur ecu in and ship out to them. I doubt there could be a lot of power from a mod like that. I would invest in different things.

How can the venom mess with throttle. Ours is a cable throttle directly linked to the pedal right? So how can an ECU chip thing mess with that.

I did some research on this. The VENOM is a complete waste of money. The JET chip is arguable. It seems the best bet is the APEXi or have a shop tune it.

i think the the venom unit works by fooling the ecu into thinking more air is coming in thus it'll add more fuel. as for sending in your ecu to jet and having them burn you a chip, unless they know every mod you have and actually put your car on a dyno to tune it, i wouldnt trust any of those aftermarket chips.
