Default what happened to my wheel!?

since its snowing here in kansas, i decided to just spin around in a parkinglot. for the last 4 years of me doing this ive never once hit anything, or gotten in a wreck, other than today.

to make a long story short, i slid into a curb. at a pretty fast speed. the impact kinda felt like a car hit me or something, it was pretty hard. now my right rear wheel is bent inwards. from the back it kind of looks like this /

i then drove home, but it was almost impossible to keep driving straight.

its a 2002 honda accord 4 door. about how much do you think it would cost to fix? and what do you think is wrong or broken on it?

You just need an alignment :chuckles:

Chances are, if you can't take the wheel off and look at the damage yourself , you're better off leaving it at a Honda dealer or something and have them replace the damaged parts...

Hmm...I know I was in an accident where I hit a curb really hard with my front right wheel. Turned out that I broke some control arms, busted my strut, bent the A-Frame. Total repair cost me like $1800. And that's w/out getting a new rim. I was really unlucky I suppose.

ouch ... that's not good at all. looks like you could have done a fair bit of damage on that one. busted axel, broken bearings, snapped control arms ... it's all possible.

ok, well, you're going to have to take the wheel off and look at what's bent /broken. This site sells a lot of honda parts:

here's a good starting point I guess :dunno:

Here's a pic of my rear wheel area from when I did my brake flush

Here's a few pics of jschmids rear wheel area when he isntalled a camber kit:

IMHO, if that happened to me I really wouldn't be able to tell how much it would really cost to fix by looking at what seems broken, and then looking up the prices. You'd also have to factor in labor, and whether or not other things are damaged that you normally wouldn't know about :dunno:

yeah...that's about what my driver's side wheel on my old car looked like after I got side-swiped. A-frame was bent...tie-rod was snapped...c-arm was forked to high heaven! I still think I had a bent axle, but we didn't bother with it. I was looking into a new car anyway so we totaled that one...wasn't worth the money. If it's as bad as mine was, I'd estimate $1,000-$1,500. Hope it isn't that bad!
