Default Help - LX Driver's Seat...

Anyway to enable the drivers seat to move closer to the pedals?

My daughter is short & moves the manual seat all the way up. But to reach the pedal, her heel is not on the floor. Anything thoughts we can do other than putting a small pillow behind her?

thanks....

Thats wierd because my sister in law is a little over 5 foot and she doesn't any problems in my 94 EX. I'd say use a pillow, or redo the rails on the seats so they move closer.

I think maybe cause the EX has an up & down adj. that actually moves the seat slightly more forward. The LX has no such feature. How difficult would it be to adjust the rails slightly?

Oh yeah I forgot that, but that being said my brother has a 93 LX and my sis in law doesn't have problems with that. Well I've never actually looked at the rails, but maybe you could yank it out and move the rails a little forward. I'll look at my car tomorrow and see what its like.

just becareful moving the driver even closer to the wheel like that. on impact, knocking on wood, the airbag would do a lot more damage than prevent. :happysad:

I hear you about the airbag & that does scare me. As it is she already seems to close to the steering wheel. I am surprised she struggles a little to reach the pedal. She's about 5' 3" but must have short legs.

Hi - I am also about 5'3" and I had the same problem when I first got my Accord. I could reach the pedal but it felt like I was stretching to reach it and that worried me a little. But within a week or so I had gotten completely used to it and don't ever even think about it (until just now!) I think it was just a different fit from my previous car.

The airbag thing worried me too - so I measured between me and the steering wheel and found that there was more than twelve inches, which I think is the distance you need to be safe.

Hopefully your daughter will get used to the feel too . . . good luck.

Here's another thought - I have a friend who is less than five feet tall, and she bought pedal extenders for her VW Cabrio. Maybe they make them for the Accord too?
