Default Cold Air & Drop

Hey Steve here. I need a book "About Cars for Dummies" LOL
I'm planning to get cold air in.
I'm planning to get it from VisionautoDynamics.
My friend told me to get AEM. Does it really matter?

and to drop my car, coil over is all I need?

sup steve...welcome to the board...

I would buy the AEM CAI instead of the one you mentioned.. and yes, it does make a difference.... that's the reason y AEM is a well-known company....

on the other hand, you could just buy a generic CAi and a K&N cone filter if you r short with funds.....still works great. hope that helps.

Yeah the brand name makes no difference and neither does the tube really...the only thing that really matters is the filter...

You would be just as good buying a off brand pipe and a really nice filter...Just make sure its no so off brand that they dont have the monting brakets right and then making it harder for you to install...

I'd say go with AEM, because of their reputation. But beware, you paying for a name also. Like the others said, if your short on funds, just buy piping and a k&n filter instead.

And about the coilovers, that is all you will need to drop the car assuming you go with 'true' coilovers, like teins (around $1000). If you go with coilover 'sleeves', like skunk2 and ground control you'll need a nice aftermarket strut to match them. Run a search, there's tons of info on here.

Any top brand of CAI like Injen, AEM, Iceman, etc have basically the same filters as a K&N...

I was saying that to make sure that if he did just go the ebay piping route (instead of an already assembled AEM) to get a good filter like K&N and not a generic one for it.
