Default Honda accord Recall? f22 seal.

I know this hsould be in the tech, but it goes for all accords 90-97 and some ludes i think. Has anyone had any problems with the balancer shaft seal goin out? I think there was a recall and they have a plate that goes over the seal to prevent it form breaking and letting all the oil spill out in a matter of seconds. So this happened to my girls 94 lude si, luckely we were driving around town and noticed the oil light come on, but if we were on the freeway we'd be ****ed. anyone else have heard of this and had to put the plate over the seal?

Heard the recall for the seatbelts staying locked on an incline, the orange release buttons for the seatbelts crack and there was a recall for that, but as far as seals, I haven't heard anything. Do a Google search for your specific application. If you find anything, post it.

Yea, when doing you timing belt change and water pump you need to change that seal and 2 others cause they are known to leak. I forgot the other 2. I had a thread in which I stated everything but can't remember right now. Too early.

i got my done when they did the recall about 2 years ago. I think you can go to any Honda Dealer and schedule an appointment with them any time to get it fixed.

Also when I got it fixed the Tech their also did a rundown on what else needed to get fixed for a charge of course....Don't let them pressure you on getting the other stuff fixed.

My wife's '96 had the same problem. Luckily, she was pulling into the driveway when the oil seal gave way. To anybody who hasn't had this taken care of on their car, I would highly recommend getting it replaced before it goes out because you will lose your oil very quickly. I mean, it literally poured out!

I didn't have a problem with mine cause I got it taken care of when I got my timing belt done, but from what I hear, it's not a pretty sight. BTW, I think the recall has since expired.

There is deffinately a recall on this situation. I have had mine replaced on my 96 accord. The other interesting recall you should look into is the free tune up recall. Upon recently aquiring my accord I took it to the dealer to have any recalls checked. It seems that you get a free tune up because the computer is not sensitive to pick up an engine miss. Rather than replacing the computers on all of the accords, they decided to give the tune ups at 75,000 and 125,000 miles. Call your local dealer with your VIN number and they will inform you if yours is eligible.

Later, and good luck
