Default 215/35-18 or 225/40-18

I cannot decide...I really like how the lower profile of the 215/35s are but wont the ride be worse? Also, I dont wanna have to worry about rubbing with 225/40 series tires..I just wanted some opinions from people with 18s, it would be appreciated!

Oh btw, I'm on a sportline (about 2") drop. thanks again.

If you're on 18x7.5", then I would go with the 225/40. My friend has the same setup (with a little more than a 2" drop) and he was okay with it.

Just an idea, but what about compromising and getting 215/40/18's?

My friend with a 5th gen had the 215/40/18 just cause he got his wheels used and that's what was on there, and he said he was going to get 225/40 when he replaces the tires.

225/40...The 40 measurement is the sidewall right? and the 225 is the width of the tire?

Do they make 225/35 tires?

The second number is not a direct measurement of sidewall...it's a ratio of sidewall to tire width. For example a lambo's 335/30 rear tires have a much thicker sidewall than your 215/35's, etc.

There are a few 225/35 tires, check out www.tirerack.com

i prefer my 225/35s. i upgraded from the 215/35 because the sidewall was comparatively too short. better rim protection and a nicer look. not so "rubbre bandy"
