Default lower mesh grill help

I just got my lower mesh grill for my 96 accord. The thing is my license plater is in the way to it to go in. I can't take the plate off becasue I need to have it on my car. Is there any way I can have to on and stil have the license plate on my car???

can you take the plate bracket off... put the grille in and then put the bracket back in place?? Or you can take the bracket off completly and mount the plate to the grille with zip ties... it sounds cheesy, but i've seen it done and it looks just fine... just get a chrome frame for the plate or something....

I just looked at my bumper. It seems that the women who had the car before kept it looking pretty clean but where the plate is at, over the top of the bumper, underneath the paint has been eatin away so it looks nasty. I don't know if I could get some paint and paint over it? I just might do the zip tie thing to the grill. But I still have to paint the bumper.
