6th Gen. to H engine series compatability
Whats Up,
I was contemplating a head/ecu swap for my Accord, but I got some suggestions to upgrade to H22. Personally if the H22 or H23 doesn't bolt directly up I don't want to bother with the swap. If anyone can let me know it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
R.J.

Best advice to u, do research on both engines. Get prices and find out which setup is right for your needs. Then decided if JDM or USDM is the one u want. I'd love to help ya man but you gotta do ur research on the subject first.

What kind of headache's? Does everyone mean the JDM or USDM H22 when there talking about it? For my '01 it would be the H22a4 I think, not too up to snuff on the H22's yet.

Not real sure about the other differences though.
I run a USDM engine and its been more than fine for me.
Looking at the year of your car your gonna be real limited in choices...according to legality the engine has to be the same year or newer than date of manufacture of the vehicle. Now most times this really doesn't matter much but if you have vehicle inspections in your state and they run the numbers on the block it may come back as a fail...check your local laws about this.
Aside from that the only other thing to remember that your car has to retain emissions package for year of manufacture as well as the emission standard. If it is OBDII it must remain OBDII unless you upgrade to OBDIII and once it goes up it can't go back (don't understand that one its just what I have been told over and over again).

Did they make an H22 in '01? I've been all over checking on this, but a lot of site's only have prices and no model years. Has anyone else seen an H22 with 220 stock HP. I've been surfing and doing so much research on the thing I can't remember what I've seen and haven't seen.
