Hey, has anyone ever removed the carpet behind the front seats in a 5th gen? I've had two green tubes under the dash for like 2 months now and I went out and got two more to put under the front seats. I figured they would light up the floor in the back nice....but they aren't bright enough. And if I put them too far towards the back of the seats they could be kicked off pretty easy. So I want to put them right below the back seat cushion.....like if people are sitting in the back the tubes would be behind the lower leg.
The problem is it's carpet there, so I'd have to mount them on and through carpet. Any suggestions? I'm also wondering if the tubes get too hot to be sitting on carpet.....
