Default Knocking on 5th gen

Guys...I have a question about 5th gen engine.

As the title said, the engine knocks on all gears except the 1st gear and its pretty loud/bad.
Some ppl say it only needs higher octane for the gas and a tune up.

IS it true??

Any experience?

I'm in Asia right now btw, and normally ppl dont use unleaded for a car that old since its more expensive.

Thx!!

Ok Please Say your ARE NOT using leaded gasoline. If you're using leaded in a normal accord you've done messed up your engine I believe.....

Leaded in a car that takes unleaded = new engine time.

Not really but he will have to replace the valves and get the compression checked because the rings may be shot too....plus if the valves are damaged you may as well pop the head off and take a look at the tops of the pistons just to be sure.

But then a good used engine may just be a lot easier..but before I went to that trouble I would drop it at the mechanics shop for a diagnosis first
