1995 Accord EX Sedan F22B1 VTEC
Over 185,000 (knock on wood...)
- Been thru a couple radiators
- Stock AM/FM/Cassette broke and is replaced by a Crutchfield cheapie CD receiver which sounds great and has an input for my MP3 players
- Several replacements of brake rotors (mostly front)
- Several tire replacements (thru Sears and Tire Rack)
- I believe I need front struts bad (passenger side is clanking) so this will be soon
- Had an accident in early '98 with most of the front end re-done around the radiator area (mostly body work)
- New A/C condenser in about 2004
- New windshield to replace a cracked one in 2006
- Driver's side window is slow so I have to open it up and adjust it
She's got a very poor finish on the hood, and an overall duller finish all the way around, a few big dings and a couple scratches, and a small to medium sized dent on the front driver's fender. I plan on taking my time working on either compounding out the hood or painting it and fixing the dent and later working on the dings, so it's becoming kind of a project car.
Currently working on Front brakes, can't bust the axel nuts off, I've broken two 1/2" breaker bars so far, will be trying propane torch tomorrow. I think I'm going to give the struts a shot on my own in the next month or so.
I have loved this car so much since the day I bought it in the summer of '95 on clearance for less than $18K. It makes it hard to consider buying anything but a Honda next time around.
I'll probably be buying a new car in the next couple years but I plan to keep my baby and I think she should go over 250K easy, probably even over 300K. Anything short of a new engine I will probably be willing to fix on this car. This will eventually be my second car and somewhat of a project car.
Hondas are just sickeningly amazing cars. It's a wonder to me that American cars have been able to compete at all.

2000 Accord Lx V6 couple- 114800. Drives like brand new! Had alternator replaced twice. Started making whirling and crazy noises around 95000 and that's when I got the timing belt replaced and now it sounds like a cat purring! I too love this car and can't see myself selling it. I rather keep it in the family by giving it to my nephew when he is 16 (he is 6 right now haha) but I am optimistic!
