Default 2 blown head gaskets and warped block

Hey guys, 170k on my 3.0 v6 accord, got it in dec98. apparently it overheated somehow, had thermostat/thermosensor replaced as nothing was determined to be wrong when brought in, but it still overheated, (NEVER TOUCHED THE "H") when the car was on.

dunno what to say...getting a used engine from dealer, they say it came out of a 98 accord, it has 30k on the engine, and will provide me a 3yr/36k warranty. they will also replace my timing belt, waterpump, and provide my 30k service. all of this, parts/labor/tax = 3900$

my transmission was replaced at 80k and honda payed for 50% since i was past the mileage on the recall.

so with 170k total (30k on engine, and 90k on tranny), i hope that my car's odometer will hit 260k (120k on engine, and 180k on tranny) right now im driving 22k/year, so thats 4years...i hope it will last.

Damn that sucks

Any reason why it failed like that or do you think you just got a freak setup in your car that went bad?

If there was ever a time to splurge and get the 260hp type S 3.2 motor with 6 speed it'd be now.

or a 3.5L Odyssey block with the 3.0L AV6 heads, Type-S cams, and the Type-S throttle body (would that actually work?)

Got my car back. Broken engine bolt (6-8" long) caused the coolant leak in my engine and head gaskets to leak, and massive warping on block and heads past honda spec...

I'd say look at it this way, newer engine, definately worth every penny. Now the car can run even longer.
