I have the exact same problem with my i90c. I think it's the charger. Is your charger an official Nextel product blankpro? Mine is not.

 

well, I went down to Autosound here in Greenwich, CT, and they gave me a cord that worked perfectly. Probably the unit that was causing the interference wass not good or not designed well for the Nextel.
