Default One down, one to go

Well, after alot of thinking, I decided to mod my tails so I could have the coveted "red/clears" on my 5th gen Accord. It took me about 20-25 minutes w/ a dremel(roto zip attachment) and a flat blade screwdriver. I almost got too frustrated to finish it, damn orange reflector wouldn't stay still so I could get enough leverage to cut it. But my patience paid off and I now have 1 sucessfully cleared out tail light. The housing for the bulb isn't messed up either, it's got a few nicks on it but nothing to prevent the socket from fitting back in. It's getting dark out here so im not sure if im gonna do the other one right now, we'll see.

I think what im gonna do on the next one is do most of the cutting before I unclip the reflector. I think that might make the job a little bit easier. We'll see. I'm not gonna do the other one tonight, it's dark already. Hopefully after work tomorrow I'll get it done. FYI, im not driving around w/1 red/clear and 1 stock tail light, my car is out of commision right now, got into a wreck a month or so ago. Just need the radiator support and front bumper cover and I'll have all the parts needed to fix her up and get her back on the road. I think im gonna attempt the black housing headlights diy too, wish me luck.

Yeah, there's a little bit, but you can't tell unless you're looking for them. Im hoping I can blow them out at work with the air hose.

why not just heat up the adhesive holding the lens on, pry the lens off and pop the amber filter out that way... all that cutting and crap has gonna make the light look like ****.

because when you break a factroy seal on a light the quality isn't 100% again.; Besides who cares if its scratched up inside the housing, no one can see it

congrats man, take it one light at a time. I think all of us who have done it the way you have know exactly what your talking about hehe. I put some tape around the bulb fixture when i did mine so alot of the damage was done to the tape and not the plastic. I read in a post that red bulb, white lens not legal?? Im not sure, haven't been pulled over yet but its only been 1 month. That "orange" piece is PMMA plastic, one of the toughest mothers you will find. (sorry for the FYI, its cuz im a mechanical eng. major) but yea, if I knew that, I might have not done it haha.
