Default 98-02 Accord Automatic Transmissions :-(

My car has over 100k on it and the transmission is really starting to show signs of wear and tear. I really want to replace it because it's starting to bother the hell out of me. What should I do? Swap in a manual transmission from a different Accord. Automatic transmissions aren't interchangeable within different generations right. My uncle has a transmission but it's a automatic from a 97' Accord. Bare with me for I don't know anything about transmissions.

i would either swap to 5sp or sell the car, rebuilding or replacing it with a used tranny just means more problems down the road.

depends on the type of car you got if you have the I4 you should be able to do a swap w/ a 5th gen accord (94-97) w/ ease.. howeva if you have a V6 then i doubt it since the 6th gen V6's have a higher HP and torgue than that of the 5th gen V6's

I have the four cylinder Vtec model. This comes as good news, so the transmission my uncle has at his house will bolt right up. The transmission he has is automatic and from a 5th gen, it's a Vtec as well.
-Thanks for the input

umm, I don't know if the automatics across 90-02 are interchangeable, maybe just the manual:

That link is for an auto to manual swap. I was trying to find out if an automatic transmission from a 97' Accord Vtec, would bolt up to a 99' Accord Vtec. Just making sure we're on the same page.

Seems like no one knows for certain.

oh I know, I was just pointing out how 90-02 manuals can interchange. I'm really not sure if the '97 auto would work, but remember that it was used with a less powerful engine...
