yha, alcohol is great at cleaning oil off cylinder walls and bearings. only thing it's good for is frozen fuel lines in the winter....sparingly

so it isn't harmful to put alcohol in your gas tank for cleaning purposes???

ya, i was using sarcasm. yes it is harmful to put too much in ur fuel. it sprays into the cylinders cleaning the oil off the walls. dont substitute isopropyl alcohol for fuel injector cleaners.

your best bet and your cheapest bet is to fill it up and go for a drive on the highway and open that up(if you know what I mean ) let the carbon deposits get cleaned out and let her breathe. then go directly to the emissions place. I heard that from one of the emissions dudes. the most common mistake is people that dont pass is that they let the car sit in the driveway and head to the test without cleaning the lines out. hope this helpsh:
