I bought my accord and love paying for it, my mom bought my first car for me and payed insurance on it, it was a 1992 chevy beretta gt back in 1998 I just got my accord in May and then modded the shit out of it, all out of my own bank account, it makes me appreciate my car a hell of alot more that is for sure!

I also pay GAP insurance added to mine which is like $15 more to cover my mods incase i get in a wreck or something.

As long as you appreciate the free ride and don't treat it like shit i see no probs, i had to run alot of errands for my mom though when she bought my first car for me, i had no probs with it though.

I thank my dad everyday for what he gives me and he has money to spare. If money was a big issue i no doubtly would have bought my own car, pay for my own insurance etc... BUT i dont have to so shut your mouth, thats great that you pay for your own shit, you want a cookie? k so you stop asking for recognition about your great accompliishment of buying your own car whoopty doo go you your the greatest /sarcasm now please if you dont have anything pertaining to the subject keep your idiotic post to yourself and get the freak out. Seriously i didnt ask for shit because ive had my car handed to me, so dont lecture me on shit. THE CAR IS IN MY NAME, its mine if i **** it up its my fault i pay for it. Just because you dont pay for something doesnt mean it cant be yours. So what your trying to say is every gift that you have ever given at birthdays, xmas and others isnt yours, correct? Your reasoning is retarded. I guess i dont own my stereo i got for christmas or that watch i got for my birthday either right? **** you man your just some jealous fool.

Damn . dont be so pissy just because you got wned:

take the silver spoon out from your ass and try working for something.

Jealous is that last thing I would be expecialy of your sorry ass.

Damn right I am proud that I paid for my car and everything.

Dont need to have my mommy and daddy buy my car and insurance and take care of me.

So maybe you need to STFU.:slap:

and as for the watch and stereo, :man your making yourself look stupid. thats different. If you parents gave you the car as a gift (like said heres a car we made the 1st payment) then thats differnt, but then you take over payments and pay for your own insurance.

Doubt you will have much respect for the car. Not as much as you would if you paid for it yourself.

all out of my own bank account, it makes me appreciate my car a hell of alot more that is for sure!

Lets just put it this way. if it was YOUR car then you shouldn't have to ask mommies permission to lower it.

Quit ragging on this guy because his parents bought him his car Yes, my parents bought me a brand spanking new Accord, yes they pay the full coverage insurance for it, but no, it has not put a financial burden on them, but I appreciate every fucking minute and cent of it. The fact that I have to prove this to y'all is ridiculous.

I can easily buy my own cheap car, insure it, and still be able to pay my own bills in a low-rent apartment, but I don't, because my parents don't want me to, so I save my money and focus on getting an education (so I don't have to put up with the same kind of shit my parents have had to put up with in Africa, India, England, and their first few years in the US).

This is a car forum about discussing car's, not our financial situations, so leave this shit in the basement.

Again I say must be nice with that silver spoon.

For thoes of us who really work hard to have what we have. we have REAL respect for what we have.

You cant tell me you have the same respect for your "FREE" car that we have for our "hard work, making payments, working our ass off for" car.

let me guess. you have been working some good job and since yo ulive with your parnetns and no rent or bills, you have saved all your money and can now finaly move out on your own.

Now try turning 18, moving out within a week, working your job, and making rent and bills. then tell me how much "extra" cash you have.

you are a little rich kid and thats all you will ever be. you will have mommy and daddy backing you the rest of your life.

anyways, the mechanic may have meant to say that the instability is caused by blown shocks. When you put lowering springs on stock shocks, they will eventually blow, and cause a bouncy, and rather unstable ride.

IMO, if you are going to get springs, save up for, purchase and install the shocks at the same time unless you don't plan on returning the car to stock in the future, or your stock shocks are already worn/on their way out.

If you are paying someone to install them, then you are going to eventually pay for the labor a 2nd time when you replace the shocks... You could be a man and install them yourself, it isn't that hard with all of the install guides on the 'net, and the with the help of a $20-70 service manual, with correct torque specs so you feel confident in the installation.

The only issue I've found w/insurance companies and lowering is them not insuring you cause it's lowered. I had the time of my life finding an ins co that would take me as is, a pain in the *ss honestly. But yeah, I think it's simply cause they feel a modified car will attract more attention so the chance of them having to pay a claim on it is increased.

Normally I would have looked at this thread, and kept my damn mouth shut, but I didn't because you attacked this kid because his parents bought him his car.

yeah, you're right. I can't say shit since I haven't lived on my own, and yes I have a nice job with no bills, but if I were to live on my own, I probably wouldn't have much of a nice life (probably no car). Either way if I were kicked to the curb right now, there would be no way in hell I would ever go back, or go running to a relative's house for help. Either way, I'm slowly starting to pay for my own shit whilst I'm at college, but my parents still control my finances since I'm a minor.

Most people tease me for babying mine. I can't even begin to describe how much I care for mine, or how I don't abuse it on the street. I auto-x mine, but I've done 2500/6month oil changes since day one, I plan to do 5000 mile/1 year ATF changes, and by Saturday, I'll have the biggest B&M transmission cooler that I can fit installed (by me) on the Accord. Again, I can't prove to you how much I care for this investment (a negative return investment ) no matter what I say.

As for work, when I'm not in school, I'm at work. Ever since I was 15, I worked every day that I was not in school. I worked 6 days a week during every holiday possible, and started working during the week, during school, when I started driving. There have been times when I've worked 20 straight hours to get the job done, because I'm dedicated to my job, and earning as much money as possible. (Yeah I know, :blah: )

However, to you, none of that matters, because you've worked for yours whilst I haven't, so you win, I lose! Now back off!

Let's not even open up the can of worms with this...

All I have to say is I managed. I moved out when I was 18, worked 2 jobs, went to school 22 credits, made all my bills (car payments, insurance on multiple vehicles, rent, utilities, tuition, cell phone, internet, etc.) and still took my girl out a couple nights a week. It all comes down to how much you really want it. If you want something bad enough, you will find away to afford it. Mom & dad can't always make their own bills, and I live on the opposite side of the country, yet I help them out. So please, don't talk about having your stuff payed for, it really causes you to lose a lot of respect around here, because you really don't appreciate anything until you have to work for it.

^^^^^^^^^^^
Not hating, just being real... better for me (a nice guy) to respond to this than someone who is a notorious prick...
