hey all, i have a 1990 Accord LX which the power antenna no longer works. in sure that its prob the antenna motor itself so is it worth the effort of gettin a new one off ebayand installin it?

 

Just go and buy the Ralley power antenna from K-Mart or other discount store.. Less than price of getting new OEM antenna mast.. Fits like OEM..

no, I replaced mine, took about 6 months in winter temps to break AGAIN......and that was the 3rd one . For the price, you should almost just fill the hole, remove the 5lb motor for some "weight reduction?", and put in some radioshack antenna in the rear window. The funny thing is, I enver listened to the radio so I never even bothered getting antoher antenna..

mine broke in the up position, looks like a common problem for 5th gens since i see a lot of them with antenas stickin up...i just pushed it down, and unpluged the motor cuz it made horible noises when i started the car trying to push it up...i only listen to CD's anyways

 

so i picked up a new antenna unit with motor and everything for $25 on my employee discount at Best Buy. it was like $60 retail so i got a good deal. ill let everyone know how it goes

 

Ah yes, I remember the days of working at best buy, very nice discount on some things. Fun stuff.....good luck!
