Default V6 AT worth it?

Hey, I am looking at a 1999 V6, and I love everything about it, but I dont like the fact that it is an auto... Since the V6 only comes in auto,Is it that much better over the 4cyl? Thanks!

Default v6 accord...

I have a 2000 Accord 4dr, and it drives pretty nice... but you lose alot of the driving fun w/o the manual. And as in all FF cars, you'll have to deal with the understeer.... i hate understeerr... arite latz

I would never settle for an auto. My 01 i4 is very spirited for my likes. If u don't mind reving ur engine to redline the i4 is awsome. The 5spd really makes driving this "family sedan" fun. I think the i4 manual is just as fast off the line as a v6 auto but don't take my word for it. I would definately suggest the i4 5spd especially if u have the money to upgrade the suspension. Also if u add an intake and/or an exhaust u will really feel like u are flying LOL.

If u love to drive than don't get an auto!!!!!!!

wow, I wish I had the money for an engine swap... I am looking for something decent sized that will be reliable for a long time (through college), that has some get up and that still has some modification possibilities. Something to replace my 88 Jetta, lol...

i think ppl here have an obsession with the h22. I think there is a lot of potential in the f23. Especially since these engines aren't old and usually have descent milage. A turbo F23 will surpass a stock h22 wouldn't it. And it would be cheaper as well as the coolness factor of having a turbo.

I don't see any companies making proper mount kits for H22s in 6th gens leave that logic for older accords...

anyways, the V6 is a great engine, but the automatic If you are autocrossing, then maybe the I4 5spd would be better for you :dunno:

If you want manual, get I4. If you want auto, get V6. If you want auto and money is short, get I4 auto.

General consensus is a good driver in the I4 manual with hang with the auto V6 until you hit freeway speeds, the V6 takes over. More freeway passing power with V6.
