Default tips to change starter

1990 Accord 2.2 DX Automatic -

I have to change the starter and wanted to ask for tips first. It it a simple few bolts and wires are is the Accord one of those cars for example that things like the exhaust manifold has to come off to get to it. Any tips are appreciated from the experienced.

I got the starter changed. The airbox had to come off and the radiator hose is in the way but can be worked around. It's pretty straight forward, 14mm bolts hold the starter and a 12mm bolt of the wire. The only thing is that the rear bolt is very hard to get to and a swivel socket would be best. I did it without one but made it three times harder to get it done.

The starter just went out (slowly). It starter motor began to drag and then the solenoid went out. Starter just went out due to age, good luck with your starter's problem.

I have this starting problem for a couple of months. I had the wire set and distributor rotor changed. The mechanic checked the battery and it was okay. So I am thinking of the starter. What are the typical sounds if it is indeed the starter?

Thanks

When the starter motor is bad it will drag (turn over slow) and when the solenoid is bad it will just click and the stater's motor doesn't engage.

Yep, that made it last almost two more weeks, banging on it, but then it completely crapped out.
