Default Rear Bumper melt

Anyone ever experience a lil wrinklage on their rear bumper right above where their exhaust tip is?

They dont owe you anything. You should of seen the work they did after they finished instead of driving away. That way you could of spotted how close the muffler was to the bumper and have them redo the hangers. Stop complaining and blaming other people for mistakes you could of spotted before they happened. :lame:

hmmm... i don't know if you have beef with MeiSoSlow, but your comment makes very little sense. i'm not trying to flame; i'm just trying to understand your comment. he paid for a service, the installation of his exhaust, and he's entightled to expect that this service is completed with some degree of competency. otherwise he could have just done it himself. with that established, the fact that his bumper melted is caused by the installer installing his exhaust too close to his bumper. yes, one should check the installer's work. but how does not checking the installer's work take away one's right to complain about a mistake in this installer's work? the fact is he has every right to complain, but he should take away from the experience the lesson of always checking an installer's work. so let him complain. it's your choice to empathize and to provide a constructive answer to his question, but there is certainly no need to hate.

i admit i'm hating when i shouldn't be. but i hope i'm not coming off as confrontational. i'm just trying to give some constructive criticism in the best way i can. if i'm wrong, let me know.

I meleted mine too when I installed my exhaust. I think when I test drove it and hit the raildroad tracks my exhaust shifted around and scorched the bumper. It doesn't look too bad after I cleaned it up some. Re adjust that as soon as u can. Just play around with the hangers.

He has no beef with the guy. He's just stating that Meisoslow should've inspected the work the muffler shop did before he left their premises. If there was something wrong with it, he should've dealt with it right then and there. Rolling your car off their lot is pretty much saying that you have accepted their work as competent. And most likely the shop is not gonna offer a "guarantee" in the installation of an exhaust. I'm pretty sure that Meisoslow had to sign some kind of waiver saying that he's gonna accept the kind of work that is done to his car, etc....

You said that they messed up the installation of the exhaust. There's pretty much only one way to install an exhaust (unless you're installing a universal muffler) and that is with the manufacturer's instructions. Now unless you told the installer specific instructions on how to install your exhaust (like bending hangers or extend piping or something) then you should've checked it thoroughly before you left the shop the day of the install.

And now that you see that your exhaust is messing up your bumper, you're gonna blame the guy that installed it? So what if you installed it yourself, who would you blame then? Tanabe?

Eh...I just said "Kicked my own ass" So i'm not really blaming it on anybody. It was a mistake that I didn't catch until something went wrong so it really my fault....What? Can't I bitch a lil?

Also, SORRY if it seems like i'm blaming the whole world for my problem, I bought the Exhaust, I paid Someone to install, I accept responcibility for not catching the F-ck up...

The lesson to be learned is don't let ppl install shit for u. All u needed is some jack stands from wall mart and all would have been good.

long story: I installed my suspension myself with a friend but the store sold me v6 springs for i4 so they paid for a pro to install the correct i4 springs ( i installed the v6). When the "pros" did the install I pulled out of their lot and shit wasn't right, when I got to a gas station I realized that the front struts were not put in correctly. If u have done struts on the 6th gen u know there is a knotch on the strut that goes in a groove into the fork. These ****ers did a half assed job and didn't bother alligning it. When they were redoing it after I brought it back the guy used an impact gun to tighten down the bolt on top of the strut and broke it off sending oil everywhere. I had to wait an extra day until they could get a replacement. My car is never going into a shop unless its something I REALLY can't handle.
