Default '03 accord sedan lx

i am thinking about getting a 2003 accord sedan, but i am wondering if i can add a amp and one or two subs and keep the factory deck. any replies would be great. thanks in advance

I would guess yes. I had an amp on my stock deck for a while, no problems. My buddy had an amp and a sub on his stock deck in his IS300, worked fine.

Maybe someone can give you a more detailed reply though.

Yes, I did it on my 03 ex-v6 and now my 04ex-v6 navi/xm Stock deck, with 2 12". Just use high level inputs on the amp and split the rear wires to speakers and the amp...

bigb2k3, how is the quality? have u ever had the subs on an aftermarket HU and can u compare the sound quality to on the stock 2003 accord HU?

They sound great to me, and no to your other question... Everyone who has been in my car things they sound good for non AM HU... I am sure they would sound better on AM, anything would probably, but hey I think its just fine for me and was well worth it...

Your going to get better sound quality if you have sub outs on your deck, but since you want to retain the factory unit that will not be an option. As said above, you can use the high level inputs to wire in the amp.

well what if we arent talkin about subs, what if u put nice components, it would still sound worse than nice components on an AM HU, right?
