Remove & replace middle dash lights?
I was just wondering how difficult it would be to replace the lights that are behind the middle dash - ya know, the ones that light up the buttons and such. Has anyone done this before, how does it look, and how long?
Actually I haven't done the middle yet....some stuff happened to my car so I had to fix them first
Also it's been sooo hot.
All I did so far is the odometer and the clock light....still
h:
What do you want to just color them or replace them with LEDs?

Good luck because personally, I believe that those are LED's and from what i hear, it's not all that fun getting to it because you have to remove a lot of parts and then do your soldering of your LEDs. Some of the other boards like AcuraTL.com and people on there have done it. I think about two here have too.
Just checking, for everybody else, but you're talking about the lights on the shifter right? Because at first I thought you were talking about the dome light or something.

Here's are instructions from Cryogen's website...it's a 5th gen tho...same concept for the 6th gen...but when I read his site, he didn't include anything about the resistors.

But here's a tip: After you sodder the bulb and wires together, test it with a 9v battery first before you put it on...that way you know if it's working or not.

they are not LED's for the dash lights.. the only thing thats LED's are the indicators for the selection on the climate control (the things that were changed in that "how to")... everything else is small bulbs... its kind of a pain in the ass to get everything out, but in the end it was worth it... now my whole dash matches my rev-indiglos.
I am guessing but you probably don't need resistors because the voltage has already been stepped down. I am planning to do that within the next couple of weeks. I have already changed the lights in the gauge pod to blue. I did not go the LED route though. I removed the stock plastic thingies that give the lights their color and replaced it with blue plastic that I cut out from a report folder. You can find all the details at my web page at:
