Default 6th gen header question

i have a 6th gen i4 5 speed with an apexi ws catback and i just installed a dc sports 2 piece ceramic header in it today. i know dc sports says that the header will give better midrange and boost hp by like 10 but i didnt feel anything different after i put the header in. did i just waste my money on the header? has anybody had the same experience?

i have the same header... the gains of 10 hp is just bullshit... true gains would be around 2-4 hp, depending on the amount of mods u have... i have the I/H/E/P and i felt a lil more power in the low end as well as the midrange....

do you have an intake? that would be the reason why you didn't feel a difference.

Exhaust is worthless (in power gains) without an intake.

the header typically just does a small bit of polishing when it comes to the power curve. To be honest, basic bolt ons do not gain so much power than you can usually feel them big time. Usually a good intake is about the best gain. But the other two deffinately help the intake . Bolt ons together are only worth about 6-10hp in the end, depending on stock components.

I had a 6gen I-4 dynoed to tune someone's VAFC, and he gained 14.xx HP with I/H/E with a fan blowing into the engine.

im sure it was the vafc that helped out more than the i/h/e

ya, tuned engine can get a little more. And my statement was also a mere estimate of what the average person will get - not one that tunes the car on the dyno . I agree though that the extra 4-6hp were probably more from the VAFC instead.

i dont have an intake per se. i took the resonator off of my stock air box with a k&n drop in. i figure i didnt want to go CAI because i didnt want my car to be loud but at the same time i didnt want to go with the short ram because all it does is suck in hot air. just taking off the resonator would do the same thing. or so i thought. maybe im wrong.
