Default 5th Generation Cracking Door Panels

I know other people here have had this problem before with the arm rest cracking on their door. I was wondering if anybody here knew if the front 4 door and 2 door panels are the same part?

is it the closing of the door that's making it crack or is it the cold/heat that's doing it?
