Default Sound System...

Sup Yall,
I just got sum audiobahn subwoofers...2x12"=3000 RMS Watts-6000 Max Watts @ 1 OHM, and im thinkin on gettin an audiobahn amp- 2400 RMS Wats @ 1 OHM...so my concern was will the factory alternator on my 99 4cyl, accord be able to handle it.

(I had a kenwood 1x12" woofer with a 1000 watts max amp and at night the lights would blink when bass hits...)

So if i was to change the alternator to a stronger one...any recomendations on which one to get and where, or anything that i could do/add to get the car to handle all the bass ?

Any answers/comments would be appreciated, thanx!!!

How much are capacitors? Would you recommend me getting one also...b/c my lights inside also flicker and I have one 12" type R and a 600W amp pushing it and also hardwired my bumper lights to stay constant if that makes any difference.

how or which company does the recoiling of your OEM alternator?
Installing the capicitor is a TEMP fix but it works, After market Alternators are Expensive they are $200.00+. While a 1 farad cap cost $70.00+.

http://www.4alterstart.com/

the alternators here should be perfectly fine for you
i found a 150 amp for mine for about 250 bucks or so
check how many fuses your amp has, add the amperage together and that'll be your MAXIMUM current draw, which happens extremely rarely and probably won't anyway unless you're doing SPL competitions. at the most you'll be drawing 75% of that amperage on average.
so you can subtract that amperage from your HO alternator, and if there are more amps left over or equal to the output of your stock alternator, you can run that shit as long as you want without the rest of your electrical system missing a beat.
