Default Suspension Replacement Time..Advice Needed

My shocks/struts are going bad on my car and need to be replaced. Would I be better off replacing them with all OEM parts, or would it be cheaper and more effective to get aftermarket parts. Any Suggestions are more than welcome.

you will like aftermarket MUCH more, but if u are looking for the cheapest alternative then go to autozone or such and get some shocks struts.

I would reccomend eibach springs and koni yellow or tokico illumina.

~$500 struts ~200 springs

well, if you aren't planning on lowering, or "upgrading" your suspension OEM shocks would be a good way to go. How old are your current shocks? Another alternative would be the KYB GR2 as an OEM replacement?

Good lord thats alot!!!

Autozone does sound like a cheaper alternative, but I don't think I can drop my ride using parts purchased from PepBoys and Stuff.

I've read before that cutting or heating springs is a big no no. Dropping on OEM shocks/struts is also not a good idea. So I have no choice but to use aftermarket shocks/springs. I'm more after looks and tolerable daily driving than performance. Thanks again.

I have 110K miles on it so they haven't been changed out since the car was first made.

First things first...what do you want out of a new suspension? Increased handling? Lower ride height? A soft ride? How much do you want to spend?

If you are looking for a little better ride and a tad bit lower go with the KYB G2 (as posted above) and the H&R OE springs which are a .75 inch drop.

That'll help us help you.

I'm not really after increased handling. I'd probably never drive my car in a way that would take advantage of it.

Lower Ride Height, while keeping close to stock ride quality.

~500 total.

well your shocks are blown. what year Accord do you have? V6 or I4?

I'll look up some prices on Ebay tonight (Which I assume is the cheapest place to find these parts).

I'd like to thank all of you for giving me some good advice.:thumbup: I'll be sure to take some picturese of the results once their done.
