I just have to say.....
ok i was reading all over on this board about NOT TO DO THIS>...well i did it. i put Ground Control Coil Overs on KYB AGX's and I LOVE IT> it rides just as good if not better then when i had my Neuspeed race springs on there. there was one problem though...they told me to trim all but the metal on my dust cover and leave it on there like as if the spring was going back on. well i knew from past experience from other coil overs i have had on my other car you dont' need the dust boot. but they said do not skip this step...so i didn't. well i start to do the test drive and everything settles... well i go out on this road that is pretty bad to see how good it was from stock. well i hear this clangin and banging shit. so i look at the strut and notice the the metal part of the dust cover was hitting were the strut rod starts to go down into the housing. so i rip everything apart and pull the dust covers off leaving the washers that were there in place. and put it all back together..no noises and even better ride. it is just awesome. i never thought it would ride as good as it does. well i just had to say that because most poeple are like don't do it. personally i think that agx's and illuminas are not htat far apart from eachother..along with konis...they may be ahead of the game a little...but kyb is right there with them..just my opinion with experience. thanks.
yeah man i dunno...it was only the back too..and on both sides..i dunno if it was because i have the 8 way adjustibles in the back instead of the 4 way adjustibles or what. but once it was out the ride was awesome. note: my AGX"s are 8 way adjustible in the back and 4 way in the front***.
oh another thing...on the back i had to customize my damn sleaves to fit...that little rubber/plastic thing that is suposed to wrap around the strut and the the coil over sleeve is supposed to go over that to make it tight..hell my sleeve wouldnt even fit over that thing when it was on thes strut. so i just the largest o-rings they gave me and placed them around the strut housing and put the sleeves over them..it was pretty tight after that so i was satisfied. i had to do a little customizing but it worked after trial and error...
I havel GC's and GR-2s...same thing happen to me about the plastic sleeve..was the problem only at the rear struts?...also i put the dust covers and cut it to where they said to cut it to.
yeah i still cut it and it was still hitting so i just took the whole thing off..because i cut all the way to the metal part of the dust covers. yes this was only in the back. i will try and take some pics of were it scraped paint off the struts so you guys can see what happened..but now they are fine when i took them off
