Well, I went for a drive after reading the post you are referring too.. I live in a small town and back roads are very close. The light output in my opinion is much better. I drive to work very early in the mornings (2hr drive) and I am very happy with these.
I did aim them a teeny bit higher than the factory lights and the drivers side is farther to the left than factory. I don't think that the factory lights were aimed properly (I had them re-spray the bumper and install new lights before I bought it and think they may not have been put back in correctly).

Anyway, take what you read with a grain of salt, I am happy with them and like the way they look and that's what counts.

Here's a comparison between OEM + TYC Projectors

OEM headlights + HID

TYC Pros + HID

Both setups have 6000k HID

Not all projectors produce worse light then stock. Projectors in general are better then stock, because they focus the light where you need it.

The reason why some projectors suck is because they are poorly designed. TYC projectors are tested to comply with DOT and SAE standards, and are 100% street legal.

plus $33 freakin dollars for shipping !!

Thanks for the compliments, I think they look great, and the light output on the 85w rally golds is amazing !!! I had a lot of fog to go thru early this morning and they cut right thru it..

I'm thinking of getting gold bulbs for the driving lights...anyone know the bulb type off the top of their head ?
