Default clear coat question!

Hi everyone,
Part of the clear coat was peeling off from my Racing hart rims, i have no idea how did that happen, maybe the brake dust eat the clear coat? (i did not clean my rims often ). Anyway, i don't have money to repair or buy a new one, is there anyway to DIY? The rims look bad now, I really want to restore the clear coat. Thanks.

Has the finish gone bad on the rims itself? If so then you might as well find a wheel shop to have them redone.....

if its just the clear, then you could prolly get away with wet sanding with a fine sand paper (VERY fine) and applying some type of clear coat from a paint place, that comes in a small can (try home depot), thats what i'd do

REAL fine.. and read up on wet sanding.

Like someone said earlier, as long as the finish is okay you can re-clear them. Look long and hard at the chemicals and methods you use to clean your wheels. ... anything you wouldnt do to the paint of your car you should never do to your clear coated wheels!!!

what kinda of cleaner do you use on your wheels, and how often. If you use a acid based cleaners thats what is stripping your CC
