a/c system problem
just lately my a/c system stopped working, i have no idea why. the fan is fine, i checked both relays, the onlything left is the compressor, is there a way to check to see if that is working, if so.... how do i go about doing that?
well when i turn it on, the car doesn't lose HP, and hot air will still come out ofcourse, well i feel kinda stupid but, will the A/C Compressor work if there is NO freon in the system? becuase my hose poped and all the freon leaked out
no no, ok the thing is even if i get it recharged it still wont work, cause when i turn on the A/C, the compressor isnt even turning on, nor is the A/C fan shroud, do you understand? it would be a different story if the A/C motor turned on and hot air was comming out, the the A/C motor isn't goin.....
oh, mah bad, to answer ur question earlier, yes the compressor will work even if its out of freon, best thing i guess is to check the fuses for the AC system..if that doesn't help then try going to a auto mechanic you trust.... Only thing i can think of, sorry if it isn't too much help.
No, there's a low-pressure switch that interlocks your compressor. If there's no pressure in the system it won't engage the compressor clutch. It's in there to prevent the compressor from destroying itself...

I guess I'm too lazy to figure out what year Accord you have, but every car with AC that I've ever had has a pressure switch like that. Some have a high-pressure interlock, too.
