Is it blowing out only hot air or not blowing out anything at all?

haha, thats the reason right there. Just get the hose fixed and recharge your freon. Freon is what makes your ac cold.

no no, ok the thing is even if i get it recharged it still wont work, cause when i turn on the A/C, the compressor isnt even turning on, nor is the A/C fan shroud, do you understand? it would be a different story if the A/C motor turned on and hot air was comming out, the the A/C motor isn't goin.....

oh, mah bad, to answer ur question earlier, yes the compressor will work even if its out of freon, best thing i guess is to check the fuses for the AC system..if that doesn't help then try going to a auto mechanic you trust.... Only thing i can think of, sorry if it isn't too much help.

No, there's a low-pressure switch that interlocks your compressor. If there's no pressure in the system it won't engage the compressor clutch. It's in there to prevent the compressor from destroying itself...

its the truth, ive read it multiple places and had personal experience with this. I mean it only makes sense to build in a safety.

Shop manuals are a wonderful source of information for stuff like that.

I guess I'm too lazy to figure out what year Accord you have, but every car with AC that I've ever had has a pressure switch like that. Some have a high-pressure interlock, too.
