might SUPER CHARGE accord
hey im in the process of buying a supercharger for my 02 v6 accord coupe but had some questions wouldnt a comptech supercharger even with low boost just kill my automatic tranny? what can i do to my tranny so that it can handle a supercharger i was thinking rebuilding my torque converter with level 10 but if worst comes to worst ill put a 5spd tranny in but i dont know how about i would do that because they dont even make the v6 coupes with a 5 spd transmission so what tranny would fit with my engine? if someone knows more about this please let me know
Thanks
Thanks
Well if you get the level ten rebuild and hte TC I think youd have no probs. The CL Type S is a J series motor just like your v6 so I would think their 6spd could swap with enough money.
Your auto will dye in a short period of time. Im pretty sure all you can do is get your tranny rebuilt because the AV6's motor wont bolt up to the I4 Accord tranny because thats all you can use. If you can buy the 5-speed tranny.

tranny cooler will help. Comptech took all that stuff into consideration, and actually the TC in the accord you're driving is really good for boost since it's rather soft. Anyhow, It'll be fine, even though it is one of those crapy v6 automatic trans.......But the supercharger only activates at hard throttle anyway, and it's not THAT much boost.

swap trannies from a 7G V6 6sp or CL-S 6sp, it'll cost just as much or more to fully build the auto tranny and the manual tranny should be faster. you really want the CL-S 6sp tranny since it comes with LSD. of course this may not be easy to find.
swapping tranny's on an AV6 isn't as easy as some people may think. the only sucessful 6th gen V6 auto --> manual used Acura Legacy parts.
to do something like this is extremely expensive and you might be better off trading up for a CL-S or TL-S seeing now those 2 cars can be found for 18K

i agree a used 6sp CL-S is probably the best way to go or just get a new 6sp coupe. the cost of a comptech supercharger plus a tranny build or manual swap, i would guess to be around $7-8K. too much to spend, IMO
Well i would look into buying a used CL type s but im getting HOOKED UP with the accord supercharger im barely gunna have to pay much for a comptech super charger for my accord so thats something i really dont want to pass up. so i thought i would just work on the tranny and by the way i already know someone who is going to do the labor for me on the conversion for free. so basically i think im just gunna put the CL type s tranny my accord r u guys positive it should fit? What would i do with the ecu buy a new one?
