Default 2.25" vs 2.50"

I will be purchasing a custom exhaust next week. It will be mandrel bent piping from accordinglydone and a Brullen muffler; if I can find one. My problem is I don't know which diameter piping to get; 2.250 or 2.50. I have searched and can't find a tread specific to this. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of both to help me w/ my decision? I have a 94 EX w/ K&N drop in and removed resonator. My plans for the car are this exhaust followed by a cold air intake. Next year I will work on a suspension upgrade. That's it!

Also does anyone know a site where I can get a nice dual tip muffler. Something like remus, brullen, or ansa.

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for your help.

Do you know any good sites that sell dual tip mufflers?

definitely go 2.25 my last set of exhuasts were 3" sounded great but plenty of lag. even with 2.5" still had some lag and had to do alot of adapters cuz most aftermarket exhausts are 2.25" so

2.25" is plenty large enough...anything else will hurt your bottom end power and not help the top......2" wouldn't hurt either, if it mattered......2.25" will be more "open" sounding and without a resonator, might sound funky

So; if I go 2.250 w/out a resonator it's gonna sound nasty? I want a nice deep tone like remus or ansa without the price. I can't stay that buzz sound.

And thanks to eveyone for the input!

if ur not gonna go FI...ur gonna lose out if u get bigger than 2.25...cuz if 2.5+ u lose lotta backpressure...and we don't go much torque as is

fluid dynamically - 200hp+ = 2.5", anything below 200, 2.25"....

that's a little rough, but that's a good basis. no resonator = higher pitch, and no increase in performance.....it's just a pipe with glass packing around it ;o)

Personal opinion, best exhaust for accord: RS-R EXMAG I, bought mine from TurboImport.com. Rocks my world, 60mm piping, only gains through the whole powerband, nice and quiet, and bloody deep growl! Especially at low RPM you hear it just go through 1k-2k and enjoy the pleasant sound.

Perfect size, perfect flow, perfect sound, and look! It's on sale!
